I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am to show these photos that my roommate Mona took of me yesterday. Usually when people who are not experienced photographers take photos of you the result doesn’t get that good but this girl really has an eye for detail! I just love the colours and the mood that is created by the slightly Liberace outfit in combination with the awesome car.
One thing about living in Amsterdam is that you feel completely out of place the moment you put anything sort of dressed up on. I could for example count on one hand (or maybe one finger is enough?) how many times I’ve worn dresses when going out here, except for with my boyfriend of course. In the beginning when I got here it was a chock for me, coming from Stockholm where everybody dress super well and it is almost considered rude not to dress up if you’re going somewhere. Here it is considered ”cool” to look like a bum with unwashed hair and wholes in your clothes. Nothing wrong with that, but there are just certain occasions when that is just inappropriate.
So, I decided to make it a little challenge and wear this Liberace outfit with sequins and faux fur! So lady-like and awesome! How does people in your city dress? And how would you challenge this? I would love to find out!
