Compartir Restaurant


The other day I had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant Compartir, a restaurant started by the former elBulli chefs Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch and Mateu Casañas. For those who aren’t familiar with the name elBulli, it was a restaurant started by Farran Adrià that was ranked as one of the best in the world, so let’s say I was quite excited about this particular visit.

To get there, we had to travel on the typically Spanish roads up in the mountains to get to Cadaqués, an old fisherman’s village characterized by it’s amazing 19th century architecture on the Costa Brava. I would usually not have been happy to travel on roads like that but since I was completely convinced it would be worth it I really didn’t mind.

When we got to the restaurant we got taken to our table that was located on the outdoor patio of the restaurant, got an amazing welcome drink made with Campari, orange and a vermouth mouse by the unbelievably friendly staff. And after having ordered, the dishes started rolling in. Never in my life have I experienced such amazing service, it literally felt like it went on rails.

All the dishes we were served were absolutely delicious. So incredibly difficult to choose the favorites but I absolutely loved the strawberry dish and the pork with couscous.
