Bitches be Brunchin’

Ok, I promise I will get better. I guess I got swept away by Christmas, New Years, the Holiday mode! But now I will put some extra effort into getting new awesome posts out there. Today I’m having an exam (keep your fingers crossed for me) and tomorrow I’m having a meeting before I’m heading over to Düsseldorf to visit my love. He left Amsterdam on Sunday and I couldn’t last a day before booking a ticket to see him. I will be there until Monday and on Monday evening I’m flying to Stockholm for a week before school hits off the week after. Guess if I’m excited to see my family and friends?!
So, the photo above represents a perfect brunch in my opinion. Amazing company, oysters and bubbles! Can’t get any better. The funny thing is that I never liked oysters. I tried it several times but it wasn’t until September this year when me and my boyfriend decided to order some that I started loving them! Maybe it is like my parents say after all, you have to try everything until you learn how to like it.
Anyhow, it was the second time I visited Wannemakers here in Amsterdam. The first time I was there (you can read about it HERE) I was so excited about the good service and the food was absolutely divine, but this time I was not so pleasantly surprised. The thing is that I went inside with high expectations since it was so good last time and then we sat down and no one came out with a menu to us for ages. We ended up having to ask for the menu when they wanted to take our order and for some reason the people there were acting quite rude until we ordered oysters. Then all of a sudden they got super friendly as if we now were worth spending their time on.
The thing is that if a restaurant is completely packed with people and they are understaffed I can understand that it is possible to forget giving someone a menu or not having the time to be extra friendly etc. but the restaurant was far from full and almost nobody was seen in the kitchen. So even if the food ended up being great the bad service really dragged down this experience and if I wouldn’t have had such great company who was able to distract me I probably wouldn’t have let it go so easily.
